My research focuses on the role of the unfolded protein response (UPR) specifically the PERK branch in neurodegenerative disease. I am interested in understanding better the molecular architecture, regulatory and signaling mechanisms which control PERK activity. Using a combination of structural, biochemical and biophysical techniques my aim is to provide new insights into the role that PERK plays in regulating physiological responses associated with neurodegenerative diseases.
