Research

My research focuses on the role of the unfolded protein response in neurodegenerative diseases such as Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s and prion disease. I am interested in developing new drug treatments for these incurable diseases, by testing promising compounds in a range of pre-clinical models, with a focus on the repurposing of already clinically used drugs for the treatment of dementia. I am also interested in the development of novel drug targets based around inhibition of the unfolded protein response.
